Vices: How Many of Us Have Them?

According to Wikipedia, a vice is a practice or habit considered immoral, depraved, and/or degrading in the associated society. In more minor usage, vice can refer to a fault, a defect, an infirmity or merely a bad habit. Everybody has vices, or habits that they'd like to quit.
For some people it's gambling, for others it's drinking alcohol, for some it's excessive internet usage and for others it can be drug abuse. Nobody really likes to admit their vices, it's very common for folks to rationalize and/or minimize their vices and the negative impact that they can have on themselves and others. Which is why today I'm gonna name some of my vices:
Shopping

This is a big one for me. Hands down I love to shop. Whether it be on eBay, in the mall or out of town sometimes I can't help myself. For me, shopping is one of my biggest stress relievers (I'm sure many females can relate). It's like a game to me: I'm always hunting for the biggest bargain and I hardly ever pay full price for anything. I always get looks of admiration mixed with envy when I tell someone how much I paid for a blouse/pair of shoes/handbag. While I shop in moderation and don't let it take over my life, I realize that some of the items that I buy aren't necessary and that I could be saving the money that I'm spending. I don't know if I'll ever lose my desire to shop, but I am working on striking a good balance for now.

Alcohol

I don't think I'm an alcoholic, but there is definitely the potential for me to use alcohol as a crutch. Many times in life when I feel like I'm about to crack under pressure, I would have a few drinks and it wouldn't seem so bad. A happy hour with the girls here, a night of drinking at the club there, a small drink before bedtime and before I know it, I'm using the drink as a band-aid to cover up my problems instead of facing them head-on. These days, I don't drink as much as I have in the past, but it's always something for me to watch out for.

"The Grass Is Always Greener" Syndrome

I admit that I have been guilty of this one more times than I care to say. Looking at other people's lives and thinking my life would be so much better if I had it like so-and-so. For one, looking at someone's life from the outside is totally different than what it's like on the inside. For all you know, they may be just as miserable (or more) than you are. So now instead of focusing on the lives that others have, I focus on myself and my son and continue to count my blessings.

Caffeine

This is a minor offense but it's real! Let me not have some caffeine for a day or two and I get hit with the mother of all migraines. So what do I do? Listen to my body and give it more caffeine. LOL.

What are some of your vices???
